I started this blog to enter Births, Marriages and Deaths that I'm finding while doing research for people in "The Moose Jaw Times"
I've been going through the Moose Jaw Newspaper microfilm starting in 1889. In 1889 Moose Jaw was in the NWT and the newspaper was "The Times" Later it became "Moose Jaw Times Herald"

Three Registration Books that were found in the garbage in North Battleford 40 some years ago were leant to our Branch and a member photgraphed them. As they are over 100 years old the information is being posted here for all to see. Here's hoping it helps someone with an Ancestor

WILL BE MONDAY

The funeral mass for Mrs. Helena Catherine Johnston, 84 of Calgary and a former resident of Moose Jaw and Moose Jaw District, will be held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church Tuesday at 10. Burial will be at the family plot at Rosedale cemetery.

Prayer service will be held in the Chapel at the W.J.Jones and Son Funeral Home Monday at 7:30 p.m. Mrs. Johnston died at Calgary Friday.

Born at Bellvelle Ont. She came to the Moose Jaw district in 1908 and moved to Calgary in 1964 where she had since resided. Mrs. Johnston was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.

Predeceased by her husband Matthew in 1949 and a daughter Patricia in 1969. Mrs. Johnston is survived by one son Harold of Sarnia Ont. Four daughters (Louise) Mrs. Eugene Kusler of Walsh Alta. (Marjorie) Mrs. George Kusler of Maple Creek, Sask. (Jean) Mrs. Stanley Patrie of Sunderland Mass. and Irene Johnston of Calgary. 11grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
